There will be a Go Eng Girl event at Dalhousie University on Nov. 16. This event is for young women grades 9-12 to come together and learn about engineering as a potential career choice. For more info, stop into student services.

Girls Soccer

The CEC girl's soccer team traveled to Charlottetown this past weekend. The team recorded a 1-0 win against Bluefield a 2-0 win against James Hill High school and a 2-0 loss against Kennebecasis Valley.

JV Girls Soccer

The CEC JV Girls soccer team ended their season on a high note by earning a spot in the semi-finals of the Brianna Memorial Tournament in Port Hawkesbury, helping raise over $ 2000 for a scholarship to remember a dedicated and beloved student athlete, Bailee Oderkirk. Janssen Rathgeber and Megan Wynn were honored as game MVPs and Natalie Cudmore, Jayne Saliva and Lidia Spina were chosen as Breezy award winners for heart and determination.

Encounters with Canada

Encounters with Canada is a week-long seminar held at the Terry Fox Youth Centre in Ottawa. Grade 10,11, and 12 students have the opportunity to participate in workshops, hear speakers, attend events and meet professionals for the following theme weeks: Arts and Culture, Business and Entrepreneurship, Law, Canada Remembers, International Affairs, Medicine and Health, Journalism and Communication, RCMP, Science and Technology, Social Science, Sports & Fitness. JV Girls Soccer

The JV Girls Soccer team played their best game of the season yesterday but was unable to get the ball in the net, falling 2-0 to North Nova. Star players included Seychelles McNutt in the midfield and Bailee Oderkirk in net. The team will be traveling to Port Hawkesbury to participate in a fundraising jamboree.

Boys Soccer

The Boys Soccer team captured the Northumberland Region title yesterday with a 3-1 win over Dr. JH Gillis. The boys have advanced to the provincial quarter finals to be played at CEC on Saturday, October 26.
